Decrypted: The Future of Cybercrime
SYNOPSIS
Cybercrime is the world’s fastest growing criminal threat, having evolved from a niche enterprise by young hackers into a transnational crime wave. Nearly everyone has been touched somehow by cybercrime - the scam texts and “phishing”, social media “romance scams”, stalking, bullying, “revenge porn”, deep fakes, malware, identity theft, ransomware attacks, crypto fraud, human trafficking; This crime wave is barely understood by the public, law enforcement and business and its relentlessly metastasizing. The digital deceivers are always several steps ahead of law enforcement.
Decrypted is a “true cybercrime” that reveals the psychology of cybercrime and predicts where it’s headed. Through exclusive access to characters (a former U.S. Secret Service agent, a Meta whistleblower, a romance scam victim turned vigilante) on the “bleeding edge” of fighting cybercrime, we tell compelling stories that peel back the layers of deceit, misconception and misunderstanding about a dangerous digital crime wave that leaves devastated victims in its wake.
