David Miller, a little known progressive councillor in Toronto decides to take on powerful political forces in a quixotic quest to become mayor of Canada’s largest city.
As in Pennebaker’s “War Room”, we take the audience inside the campaign with unusual intimate access to some of the smartest political minds in the country as they craft an unorthodox strategy to beat their better resourced opponents. The campaign receives a needed endorsement from (pre vaccine sceptic) Robert Kennedy Jr. and overcomes accusations of racism, a well-oiled political machine and his own self-doubts as he door knocks, debates, and fights way from single digit polling numbers to an unexpected victory.
